Abstract


Absctract. Type 2 diabetes is 90% of all DM, if not managed properly it will have a bad impact such as experiencing heart disease, chronic kidney failure, retinopathy, blindness and nerve damage, of all these cases as many as 65% died from heart disease or stroke died from heart disease, stroke and DM sufferers are at greater risk than people who do not suffer from heart disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of Type 2 DM. Retrospective study design with a sample of 63 people using simple random sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire and then analyzed the data using the Kendall's Tau Correlation test. The results showed that there was a relationship between eating patterns (ρ = 0.000 and r = 0.587), obesity (ρ = 0.007 and = 0.401 ) and physical activity (ρ = 0.010 and r = 0.359 ) with the incidence of type 2 DM in North Konawe District Hospital, Sulawesi Province.
