Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by an increase in glucose levels in the blood or hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus is also called the silent killer because this disease can affect all parts of the body's organs and cause various kinds of disease complaints, including eye vision problems, cataracts, heart disease, kidney disease, sexual impotence, wounds difficult to heal and rot / gangrene, lung infections -Lung blood vessel disorders or strokes and so on. According to the 2018 World Health Organization (WHO) data, the incidence of diabetes mellitus has been recorded as 422 million people suffering from diabetes mellitus or an increase of about 8.5% in the adult population and an estimated 2.2 million deaths, and it is even estimated that it will continue to increase around 600 million people in 2035.This type of research is quasi experimental research with the one group pretest-posttest design approach. The one group pre and post test design research design is one of the pre-experimental methods in which there is no control group, but the first observation (pre-test) has been carried out which allows testing the changes that occur after the treatment (experiment). This type of research can be identified more accurately, because it can compare conditions before and after health education. The results showed that there was an influence on the level of knowledge before and after health education with the CBIA method about diabetic foot exercise, this can be seen from the Z-count analysis of -4.949 and a value of ρ value of 0.001. By using α <0.05 indicates that Z count> (-4.949) or (ρ value 0.001 <α <0.05). There is an effect of health education from the CBIA method on the level of knowledge of patients with type II diabetes mellitus about diabetic foot exercises on the level of knowledge about diabetic foot exercises in patients with type II diabetes mellitus with a value of ρ 0.0001 (ρ <0.05).
